After my last break, I came back to blogging excited to post new things. After two more weeks, I think that blogging is not for me. I do love sharing with people who care about the same diversions that I do, but I also realize that standards for beauty blogging are different. People want high quality photos of nails, that I don't have time to do. I am a nail polish enthusiast, not an expert, and this is just a hobby for me. It takes time to post on other things, and I spend too much time in front of the computer as it is. This will leave me more time for being outdoors, knitting, and starting the dollhouse kit I have had sitting in my hobby pile forever.
Maybe it is time for Facebook, rather than blogging...if you wish to follow me on Facebook, just send me a message on Twitter and I will send you my information.
Thank you so much for reading my blog, and I really do wish everyone all the best!
Morning everyone! Today, I have way too many pictures of Wet n' Wild Caribbean Frost, which is a duochrome, blue/green metallic. It doesn't look as brushstroke-y (is that a word?) as most frosts to me, so I call it metallic, which sounds a lot better.
You can see the duochrome at the edges of the nail in this last photo, and the colour does shift depending on the light. It is a stunning polish, with a good formula, and definitely one of my favourites for a summer mani or pedi. I received this in a swap, with Kelly, but I know that this is relatively easy to find at Walmart or drug stores that carry Wet 'n' Wild.
On an unrelated note, I have been thinking of my fall posts, which will start at some point in September - most likely when I am tired of summer colours. Please give me your opinion on the side-bar to the right of the blog. Thank you in advance and have a terrific day!
Happy Wednesday everyone! I have always been a fan of mood polishes, and used to own a lot of Toma Moodies, which came in little bottles shaped like lightbulbs. When Claire's released a set of mood polishes about a year ago, I had to have at least one, and the one that caught my eye was Calm/Wild.
The polish is thermo-reactive, and changes with body heat changes. Here you see the nice medium purple with silver shimmer that is the "cold" colour.
This is the colour when it is "hot", a nice mauve-y pink. I ran my hand under hot water and took a picture right away.
The next two pictures show what it looks like in between. I couldn't get a shot of it doing a "funky French", unfortunately!
I love mood polishes, because they are entertaining. I check my hands every so often to see what the colours are doing. Perhaps I am just easily amused. :P
I am old enough to remember the show ChiPs, about two California highway patrol troopers and their cases. If you are the least bit curious about the show, here is a link to a picture of the two stars, Erik Estrada and Larry Wilcox. I had a crush on both of them, and my favourite alternated from week to week. :)
So, when I wore American Apparel California Trooper, I thought it sort of reminded me of the pale khaki uniforms of Ponch and Jon. Sort of. It seems a bit light to me, but I can see it is in the family of camouflage colours.
The formula was really nice and creamy, which is what I have come to expect of AA polishes. I also liked that this is a fairly clean looking neutral, and work appropriate. I got bored after a day of wearing it, and because it the Year of Crackle, I threw one of my untried crackles over it. This is China Glaze Cracked Medallion, the bronze/copper metallic.
I liked the effect on this one, maybe because the metallic crackle looks nice with a creme finish underneath.
I hope you all had a good weekend. Mine was pretty busy, but good!
This is a quick post to show off one of my favourite OPI classics, Cajun Shrimp. This is a red-coral creme that looks very red on me, but can pull coral in some lights - unfortunately, not in my picture!
The formula on this is fabulous, and applies really well. I am on my second bottle of this, and that is saying a lot! This makes a really nice pedicure colour, especially if you want something classic and pretty. This is still available and is worth picking up if you like reds that are anything but boring.
That is it for today! I have several polishes to catch up on, before I am off for another week. Look for scheduled posts while I am away! Hugs!
I wanted to make sure I got to this soon after my break, so thank you for your patience.
